You may check your exam copy on Thursday, October 30th, from 10:00-11:30 in Room C301, Building S4|03, Wilhelminenstr. 7, 64283 Darmstadt.
This is for all fields of study and for both exam parts 1 & 2.
Note that the inspection is meant as a feedback mechanism for you and also
gives you an opportunity to check whether we overlooked one of your solutions
or incorrectly added up marks. It is not meant for changing the marking scheme
so that you can collect another 3 marks or so, in order to pass after all.
Please bear that in mind when you come to the inspection.
Marking of the ICS1 part of the module exam is done. The results of the first part are on a separate
webpage (CMPE students can also already check their preliminary grade).
The page is password protected, you should have received an email with the necessary login
information. If
not, please email us. A maximum of 100 points was possible.
The combined results (part 1 + part
2) are accessible as well (use the same user/password combination as with the
first part). The result is the final grade considering both parts. First we
calculated how many percent of the marks you achieved in each part (for part
1, e.g., 100 marks => 100%). Then we calculated the combined percentage by
computing the mean value of the two part percentages.
To pass you need >=50%.
The module exam will take place on Monday, the 6th of October 2003. The time is from 8 to 12 o'clock. The first half (8.00-9:55) will be about ICS-I; the second half (10:05-12:00). Make sure to be there early enough! The room for the exam is S2|06 030.
To prepare I suggest to go through the exercise sheets again. The lecture notes might also be useful.
Regarding question types and material covered, the exam part will be similar to the exam at the end of the semester WS 02/03.
The topics were:
We will not ask anything regarding KarelJ.

You can run the various animations (from the zip-file) by either
1) double clicking on AnimalDev2.0a.jar (you are lucky if it works this way) or
2) by calling javaw.exe -jar AnimalDev2.0a.jar stack.aml
Hopefully javaw.exe's location is part of your PATH variable, if not you may locate it on your system (=> e.g., JDK1.3\bin\) and execute it from their. If AnimalDev2.0a.jar is not in the same directory as javaw.exe then you must provide the full pathname e.g., javaw.exe -jar C:\MyJars\AnimalDev2.0a.jar
Note that it may take *several minutes* for the Animation Window to pop up.
Use File | open to load any of the animations provided (.aml files) and then Edit | Show Animation Window to see the animation. You will need to click the "play" button first before you can see anything.
The exercise sheets will be available as printed copies, which you can get on Fridays from your tutor. They can also be found as electronic version behind the links below. To save resources, please refrain from printing them in pool rooms! A sample solution for each exercise sheet will be published after the respective hand-in date.
Here you can find the lecture nodes online.
